照片：雖然我沒有那些野雁飛行的照片，但我有Andy去打獵的時候看到的麋鹿。這在Indian Lake也是十分罕見的。我相信那興奮程度比我看見很靠近的野雁還要大的多吧。
I have a pair of grandparents in USA--Jean and Don. Actually they are my employers but we are so close so I call them grandpa and grandma instead. They are just a funny, generous, and interesting couple. Their love is almost a legend, too, ’cuz they’ve been married for 59 years. Isn’t it incredible?!(I mean I don’t even want to live that long!)
They have a motel business on Indian Lake, which has 6 motel units and 4 cottages, and I am a housekeeper(helper for all kinds of things) there. (two antiques one is 80 yrs old, one is 79, I am so surprised they can still run that place.)
One day, me and Jean were cleaning the cottage "Lakeside," as the name says, it’s beside the lake, and Jean goes: 「Listen! Those geese are flying back to Canada.」
Then, there are bunch of geese flying above the lake, passing right in front of us, forming like a "人" shape, and each of them was making the sound, so loud. It’s really exciting and amazing to see this in person instead of from TV or movies, and realize how nature runs in all kinds of different ways.
Then I asked: 「They don’t like to stay in hot place? 」
Jean: 「Yes, they do, that’s why they’re going back to Canada, it’s warm up there.」
I: 「But it’s warmer here in USA in summer time, isn’t it? I mean, geographically we're southerner.」
Jean: 「well...don’t tell them!(with hush gesture and whispered to me)」hahaha, there! That’s my cute grandma.
Lately, my grandpa--Don is frustrated by his own body condition, you know, when you’re getting old, your body can’t function well like it used to be, you get frustrated easily. And one side of his eyes got a little white spot in the corner that he couldn’t see things clearly. He was trying to nail down an ant on the wall but missed it, so he goes(frustratedly): 「I can’t nail an ant with my eye like this! 」
Jean:「 Honey, actually there are three ants on the wall. 」
Don: 「Then you should be grateful that I didn’t have a rifle in my hand or it would be three big holes on the wall now.」
hahahaha....they are just so funny and have good sense of humor to help each other to pass all the unhappiness.
Sometimes I would like to set a recorder in their house to record their conversation everyday. They really should be comedians. I just so love my American grandparents. ^___^ And everyday I’d worked for them, I feel so lucky and honored.
